Navigating Headlines Without Losing Focus

Alex: Hello everyone, and thanks for joining our bi weekly commentary. I’m Alex Phillips, here with my partner, Tom Boh. Kelly sends her best—she’s traveling and out of the office this week.

A quick thank you to those who joined last week’s event with Baird PWM Market Strategist, Michael Antonelli. It was great to see many of you and to spend the evening exploring the behavioral side of investing. For those who couldn’t attend or who join us from outside Colorado, we will send a follow up email with key takeaways. Be sure to take a look.

Before I turn things over to Tom, we want to acknowledge what’s on many of our minds today—the renewed geopolitical tensions following U.S. action in Iran over the weekend. Events like this naturally create uncertainty, both emotionally and in markets.

To help frame today’s discussion, we’re sharing a short piece from First Trust titled War Times and the Stock Market. It offers a helpful long term perspective on how markets have historically behaved during periods of conflict.

With that, Tom, what stands out to you?

Tom: Thanks, Alex.

For those of us who’ve lived through past geopolitical events, we know they can feel unsettling—and I’ll admit, they seem even more so as I get older. But it’s important to remember that well diversified portfolios are designed to anticipate and withstand periods of uncertainty.

We’re monitoring the situation closely, but our message remains consistent: stay focused on the process rather than predictions and stay committed to the long term goals of your financial plan.

On a separate note, we’re now well into tax season, and most of you should have all of your tax documents available. Only a small number of clients remain on Wave 3. If you need help accessing or sending any documents, please reach out.

As always, thank you for your trust and confidence. Until next time, take care.
